Cold Bones

Akiko: Bones huh? That's what your intrested in? I really don't see how you knowing ANYTHING about bones can effect you positively. In fact, I really would recommend you never ask me about that again. It's beyond me how you even came to learn about that event. Unless you just had a feeling that saying that would get me to give a reaction? hm? You do seem to know a lot that you shouldn't be able to know. User: [[I want to know what you and your friends did 7 summers ago in the mountains.->9]]

Akiko: My life has not been the easiest thing in the world, not the hardest i'm sure, but still I should get to be in at least the top 10,000. If you could lend me your ear I would really love if you would listen to my story. Akiko: Where do you think I should start? I mean I don't want to bore you with stuff you don't think is very interesting. User: [[Tell me about the Bones->3]] [[The letters->4]]

Akiko: Ah. Starting with a real tough one. Kenzo... Kenzo.... Kenzo was... my partner.. You see a long time ago me and Kenzo had a dream. We wanted to create a way to transport matter between two seperate locations, Teleportation if you would. We meet in college and bonded over our shared love of science. We worked throughout college to create a pitch for our teleportation technology that we planned to pitch to a large tech company. Sadly we were rejected. With no where else to turn, we could not give up. We began working on our own. This would be our first mistake. There was a technical fault... A malfunction... Kenzo was lost in the test. I never saw him again. I tried to move on, but a year ago I started recieving letters. These letters were unexsplainable to say the least. The letters claim to be from Kenzo, claiming he is still out there somewhere. I don't know how to feel... I had moved on with my life... The letters say he still loves me... This whole time I've been moving on with my life, having fun, enjoying life. While at the same time Kenzo has been doing nothing but trying to make his way back to me.. How awful can I be? I'm an awful person. How can I forgive myself? How can I look him in his eyes? Could I really look him in the eyes as he realizes I did N O T H I N G to save him! I am worst then trash. I should be the one stuck, not him. User: [[Don't be so hard on yourself->5]] [[I won't tell you that you are wrong.->6]]

Akiko: Thanks for your honesty... You could have lied though... Is this how you make people feel better? A younger me might not have been able to handle hearing that. Luckily I am not the same person I once was. I can accept what I did.

Akiko: You know what, you're right! I can start working to save him now! Even if there isn't a lot I can do for him now, maybe there is something that I can do that no one else can do. Thanks.... Not many people would be as nice as you are. [[Start Over->Start]]

Akiko: Ugh. Fine. You think it would be that easy? hm? Thought you could throw out enough words to scare me? Sounds like you already know what happened if you ask me. How did you know all that? You are one confusing person. User: [[Did he beg for his life?->10]]

Akiko: You really are a pain. Why should I tell you anything! What do you know! You don't know what we went through! Friends have to help eachother out! The ritual is important! We can't let him think we have forgotten! ugh! I shouldn't be saying any of this! Can't we talk about something diffrent!? User: [[Let's start over->1]] [[So what, you just killed a man because your friends told you to?->11]]

Akiko: We came to an agreement! We voted! He was hurting "M" We were NINE! We were young and stupid! We pay for that mistake every year by visiting those dusty bones! We have no regrets.... [[Do you regret what you did?->12]]

Akiko: YES! OF COURSE I DO! What we did was wrong, i don't know if there was another way, but I want to believe there was. If we just took more time to think things over... There must have been a way to fix things... I just can't come up with one.... User: [[Just run through what happened.->13]]

Akiko: We were in Middle school... I hung out with a small group of friends after school everyday, we were very close, probably closer than I was with my real family. We cared for each other.... There was a boy, "M". His father was hurting him..... He would come to us crying, telling us all about the suffering he went htrough that day. We could barely contain our rage. "M" was our friend....we couldn't let him continue to suffer. User: So you decieded to kill him? Akiko: Yes.... We lured him out into the mountains. He was very angry... At first we just wanted to confront him.... He got violent so quickly... He smelled of alcohol.... It reeked... "K" was just trying to hold him off.... He swung a large stick at him... "K" hit him with a shovel... "M"'s dad just lied there... not moving..... S O M U C H B L O O D began pouring out of his head. We had to do something quickly. We had the shovels.... We buried him. Three weeks later "M" had a nightmare.... his father came to visit him... His father laid out the ceremony to us.. [[Ceremony?->14]]

Akiko: Once a year.... W E D I G U P H I S B O N E S "M"'s dad said this is how we will show our respects. So that his spirit can rest enough year... User: And if you don't? Akiko: Then he will destroy our home town and haunt us till we die. He said he would drag us down with him. He truly was an evil man... Once a year we dig up his bones. We clean them. We then report to him one by one how we are doing. We tell him how school is going. We tell him about our romances. About how we have grown. Finally we each take turns throwing dirt into the hole he lies in. Once he is fully buried we go back down the mountain, never to speak of it again till a year has past. Till we have to perform our D U T Y . User: Sounds like you have been through a lot. Akiko: I guess... [[RETURN TO BEGINNING->Start]]
